California State Library Website Redesign
SymSoft redesigned the California State Library Website to improve the usability and accessibility of the website and implement the new California State Web Standards. We performed usability studies and analysis, and conducted user surveys to get a better understanding of user needs. Based on this analysis we created an improved information architecture for the site. As part of the redesign, SymSoft migrated the website to use the ca.gov standards for branding and compliance with the the web accessibility standards.
In addition, we worked with the Library team to migrate the California Research Bureau Reports from old ColdFusion/Access database application to a robust ASP.Net/SQL Server solution. SymSoft did the data migration from MS-Acess to SQLServer. The application provides an online search for the research reports, and an administrative interface for entering the new reports in the database.
