Colorado Motorist Insurance Information Database

The state of Colorado wanted to reduce the number of uninsured motor vehicles operating in the state. Working with the Colorado Interactive, SymSoft Solutions developed a system to process the insurance information sent by the insurance companies to the state, match this information with vehicle registrations, and update the state databases to give daily updates on changes and out-of-insurance vehicles. The system parses and validates the EDI 811 standard using ALIR standards, stores and transmits information to state agency through both web-based and back-end systems. The solution also includes a web based fron-end for the insurance company staff to look at the status of their filings and for the department of motor vehicle staff to lookup uptodated insurance history for the vehicles registered in the state of Colorado.
