CA.Gov Locator

The Ca.gov Locator is a one-stop mobile directory that provides location and contact details for California government service centers and offices. Using location-aware GPS technology, the app pinpoints the user’s current location and presents nearest government offices. Users can click-to-call agency telephone numbers, get directions on a map, or send an email.

SymSoft Solutions conceptualized, designed and developed this application, working in collaboration with the CA.Gov portal team. The application is available both as native apps on iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) and Andrioid devices, as well as web-based app for other mobile devices. SymSoft also built a web-based administrative interface to enable the state staff to maintain the information. The editing interface provides secure access via role based access control and approval workflows, and makes the data available via Web/REST Services. CA.Gov Locator was the first mobile application developed for the state and won Center of Digital Government's  "Best of California award" in the most innovative use of technology category in 2009.
