California Health Care Reform CMS Implementation
As the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is implemented in California in the months and years to come, consumers will have new protections, programs and resources available to them. The California Health Care Reform website was designed and developed to provide the information to Californians about their health coverage options, protections and opportunities. The website also provides valuable information about California State Government's plan and priorities for implementing the new federal health care law.
The California Health and Human Services agency (CHHS) engaged SymSoft to design, develop and implement this website using a CMS system. SymSoft worked with more than 15 stakeholder groups, including different agencies and departments involved in implementing the law, the agency secretary, the Governor's Office and the California Technology Agency. SymSoft worked with these groups to identify the website content, create information architecture and visual design, and implemented the website using DotNetNuke CMS. The website was created in record time and provided an easy interface for business staff to manage the website content. The website uses innovative interactive components to depict the implementation timeline and priorities for user engagement.
